Pete Tucker

Pete Tucker has been a Track and Field and Cross Country Official for the past 22 years.  Pete began his career at the request of Highland High School Athletic Director Brad Hyre, who asked him to assist with starting home Track and Field meets in 1994.  Prior to becoming an Official, Pete was the Head Track Coach at Highland High School.  Pete became licensed in 1996 and was mentored by John Wehmeier.  Pete attributes his success to Brad and John encouragement and assistance in getting started.  During his 22 years, Pete has worked numerous IHSA Sectionals for Track and Field and Cross Country.  He has been the Meet Referee for the Girls State Track and Field meet in 2012, and the Meet Referee for the State Cross Country meet in 2011.  In 2016, Pete was the Boys Class 1A Starter.  In addition, Pete serves as a Track and Field Clinician for the IHSA and the Region 6 South Section Leader for the Illinois Track and Cross Country Officials Association.
