EIU Renovation in 1:44

posted Jun 20, 2013, 7:14 AM by John Pearson
IN LATE MAY, 2012  a video camera began recording events (24/7) that took place at O’Brien Stadium
26th  Saturday   Final Event for the IHSA Track championships on the O’Brien Stadium
27th  Sunday     Like several other souvenir hunters, I dug out a piece of the old running track
28th  Monday    Construction crews began tearing apart the running track and football field
IN LATE MAY, 2013  the same video camera recorded the final frames of the one year venture...a new track/football field for EIU

Nate Atkinson, former EIU runner, loyal track follower, friend, eiurunning.com web master, EIU CATS (Center for Academic Technology Support) staffer,  helped plan the project.  Jay Grabiec did the actual photography, and CATS friends, Amir and Kyle did the final touches.  Very few 800 meters have broken 1:44.  This time lapse video lets you see what happened during the year, in just 1 minute and 44 seconds (the time it takes a world class 800 meter to complete the race)  ENJOY
